Can Melcion is acknowledged as one of the top 50 historic houses in the north of Mallorca, originally built in the 16th century as the main farm house and olive pressing facility for the neighbouring olive groves. The setting is idyllic, set as it is, at the head of the valley protected by wild and rugged mountians but nestling amongst evergreen trees and lush gardens.
The house is set amongst 175 acres of its own grounds with enchanting walks through the evergreen oak forests up into the mountains, with its own small orange grove down by the river and beautiful terraced gardens surrounding the house. The accommodation is traditional and comfortable with air conditioning throughout. Externally there are beautiful covered terraces and a delightful pool carved out of the hillside and suitable for all ages.
The only distraction in this haven of peace and tranquillity is the mesmerising gentle jangle of the bells around the sheep's necks.
Quite simply houses of this quality are not normally available for rent.
